Privacy Policy
Your documents stay on your device. Here is exactly what we do and do not collect.
1. The short version
- Files you open in our tools are processed inside your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers and we cannot see them.
- We do not ask you to create an account or give us your name or email to use the tools.
- With your permission, we use Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages are useful. You can say no.
2. Who we are
MyPDF operates the website mypdf.tech. For any privacy question you can contact us at contact@mypdf.tech.
3. Your files
When you select or drop a PDF or image into a tool, the file is read by JavaScript running on the page and processed in your device's memory. The result is created on your device and downloaded by your browser. At no point is the file, its name or its contents transmitted to MyPDF or to any third party. When you close or reload the page, the file is gone from memory. If you create a signature, it exists only in the open page and is not stored.
4. Information collected automatically
Server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) records technical information when a page is requested, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose problems.
Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregated usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location (country or city level), device type, browser and how you arrived at the site. Google may set cookies (for example _ga) for this purpose. This data does not include the content of your files. If you decline, the Analytics code is not loaded.
Local storage. We store your cookie choice in your browser's local storage so we do not ask you on every visit.
5. Advertising
We may display advertising through Google AdSense or similar services in the future. If we do, those providers may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, and this page and our Cookie Policy will be updated. Where the law requires it, advertising cookies will only be used with your consent.
6. Why we process data and legal basis
- To operate and secure the website: our legitimate interest.
- To measure and improve the site with analytics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To answer your emails: our legitimate interest in replying to your request.
7. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with service providers needed to run the site: Hostinger (hosting) and, if you consent, Google (analytics). Those providers process data under their own terms and may transfer it internationally, including to the United States.
8. Retention
Server logs are kept by the host for a limited period. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period configured in our Analytics account (set to a limited number of months). Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of the conversation.
9. Your choices and rights
You can change your cookie choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer, or by clearing your browser data. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK, or Morocco under Law 09-08), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing and to withdraw consent. Contact contact@mypdf.tech to exercise these rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Children
MyPDF is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Because your files never leave your device, they are not exposed to us or to a server breach. Please keep your own device and browser up to date.
12. Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
